DJ Khaled‘s “I’m the One” stormed to the top of the charts last month and became a certified summer anthem. The record producer recently caught up with Billboard to explain how the whole track came together, including something crazy about Quavo‘s verse: “The man really took five minutes,” Khaled says. “Five minutes listening to the beat, and then he went into the booth and just knocked the verse out.”
He also describes how Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne and Chance The Rapper’s contributions came together.
