Just when you thought things couldn’t get worse for R. Kelly, the Illinois grand jury indicted the Pied Piper on 11 new counts of sexual assault. The charges in the case include four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 16, two counts of criminal sex assaults by force and two counts of aggravated criminal sex abuse.
Four of these new felonies carry max sentences of up 30 years in prison.
Kelly’s attorney spoke up for his client and had to clear up any misconceptions about the case, explaining the new charges on Twitter:
#RKelly was NOT charged with a new case. He was recharged in an existing case, same alleged victim and time (a decade ago) It changes nothing

#RKelly These are the same conduct, just charged differently, same alleged victim, same time frame, same facts. We expect the same results

We wouldn’t be surprised if more charges are added to the ones already on him in the coming months, considering everything he’s been alleged of doing.
