RAY BLK broke out last year with the release of her debut EP, Durt, featuring collaborations with Stormzy, Wretch 32 and SG Lewis, along with being named as BBC’s Sound Of 2017. Today, the South London artist is making her much-anticipated return with “Doing Me,” her new Jimmy Napes-produced single about doing and dressing how she wants to, despite what others might think.
“It’s about being yourself no matter what and not caring about judgment,” BLK says about the song. “People are going to judge you whether you do bad or good, so you have to do you, regardless.”
The theme feels somewhat like a 2017 version of India.Arie’s “Video.”
