Ric Wilson burst onto the scene last year with his dance floor ready, debut EP titled Soul Bounce. Now, the Chicago rapper is bringing those same good vibes, but paying tribute to the legends of dance music with his brand new project, Negrow Disco.
The project was inspired by a chat he had with an elder at a barbershop. “[He] told me my song ‘Soul Bounce’ reminded him of a disco song, […and] that convo led to me studying and getting really interested and amazed by the early Disco era,” he said. “I found out how crazy dope it was when it was Black, Latino and LGBTQ, before it got white washed.”
The four-track release sees contributions from Cory Grindberg, Little Bear, TK, Patrick Pryor and the legendary Chuck D — stream below.
