RZA Will Produce New Ol’ Dirty Bastard Biopic

Thanks to Sony’s Columbia Pictures and RZA (who will serve as producer), legendary Wu-Tang Clan member Ol’ Dirty Bastard will get his own biopic.

As one of the most polarizing members of the State Island crew, ODB not only built his profile through the Wu, but also on his own. In 1995, he released the classic Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version, earning a GRAMMY nomination for best rap album.

But everything wasn’t always good for the eccentric rapper. Ol’ Dirty had plenty of legal trouble and he saw time in jail after multiple arrests, racking up charges that included drug possession and assault. There were many legendary stories during his time in the spotlight, like the time he fled from rehab as a fugitive and picked up a welfare check in a limo.

Unfortunately, his life ended tragically when he overdosed in 2004.

The upcoming film does not have a name but production is underway and more details should surface as things become more concrete.

One time for O.D.B.
