ScHoolboy Q on Status of the Black Hippy Project & Next Solo Album

Is the Q album dropping this summer?

Last week, ScHoolboy Q teased that he was planning his next album and the release of SZA’s debut project, CTRL. With the Top Dawg Entertainment’s first lady effort arriving on June 9th, many are speculating that the Los Angeles rapper could be dropping this summer. Well, Q was recent guest on Montreality to discuss the album, which is coming sooner than his fans think.

While also touching on pending content, he also addressed the status of the Black Hippy album. With his brothers Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul all focused on their solo careers, Q sadly said that there’s a slim chance of it possibly happening. He went to say, “I’m with it though, I wanna do it,” as we’re wondering when they’ll actually have organic time to work on a non-forced effort.
