The last time we heard from Shay Lia, she was heating up dance floors with the Kaytranada-produced “Funky Thang.” With her latest single, “The Cycle,” she’s taking the more reflective route, but still keeping things bouncy for the hook.
Produced by Sango, the track finds the Montreal artist singing about not fooling for the lies told by her lover. “How in the hell does it feel knowing, you ain’t shit now and you weren’t beforehand?” she sings on the record. “And I ain’t got the time boy, you talk too much.”
