SiR Breaks Down “D’Evils” Lyrics and Meaning

SiR recently sat down with Genius to break down the lyrics for “D’Evils,” one of the highlights off his first TDE album, November.

The song came about after he and producer D.K. the Punisher flicked through reggae tracks and stumbled across Billy Boyo’s classic “One Spliff a Day” record. As soon as they heard the words “one spliff a day,” they knew it was the one to sample.

“The title of the song kinda came from the old JAY-Z song ‘D’Evils,'” SiR said. “I’m a huge JAY-Z fan, so any opportunity I get to do something that he might see, I try to do it.”
