A New York Times interview has revealed that Solange will be releasing her new album this fall.
Writer Ayana Mathis adds that the project, recorded in New Orleans, Jamaica and Los Angeles, will be out “probably sometime soon.” She also says that “the record will likely arrive into the world fully formed at some mysterious and unexpected moment, like a meteor cratering into the culture.”
“There is a lot of jazz at the core,” Solange said about the sound of the record. “But with electronic and hip-hop drum and bass because I want it to bang and make your trunk rattle.”
We never expected to the follow-up to A Seat at the Table to arrive so soon — especially with the amount of touring she’s done — but we’re not complaining.
