We almost got Dr. Dre on VERZUZ but at the last minute, it did not happen. Swizz Beatz was recently on The Breakfast Club, and he talked about what could have been.
According to Swizz, Dre was watching the Babyface and Teddy Riley battle and because of the sound issues, he backed out from doing the series. Apparently, he was supposed to announce he was doing a battle that night, but with the sound issues, he backed out.
Next thing you know, Swizz was getting a call saying, “Man, I can’t be a part of nothing that sound like that, my legacy is quality.”

Though Dr. Dre may never do VERZUZ, the team has a few battles on deck.
The Isley Brothers vs. Earth, Wind & Fire will take place on April 4, Redman vs. Method Man will go down on April 20 for the 4/20 smoker’s special, and SWV vs. Xscape was just announced with their May 8 battle.
Also, wish them a happy birthday because one year ago, they started the series.
Wow! 1 YEAR AGO TODAY @therealswizzz and @Timbaland hopped on IG Live and rocked out for 5 HOURS w/ the first "Verzuz". We’re grateful to have been able to provide y’all entertainment during these difficult times. #HappyBdayVerzuz 🥳
