SZA was recently featured on Billboard’s web-series How It Went Down; where she touched on a rare story regarding the creation process for her critically-acclaimed debut album.
During the development of her CTRL project, the first lady of Top Dawg Entertainment explained the background behind her stand-out single, “Supermodel.”
The track served as her first ever acoustic track, as she explained how a simple loop made her intimidated during the writing process. SZA even went to reveal that even Pharrell Williams couldn’t make the track better. After going in and trying to alter the track he contributed on, she explained that drums and anything else they tried just didn’t with the cut’s tone.
