Tax now faces up to 20 years in prison. . .

Over a year ago, the music world witnessed one of the most unfortunate events this decade; leading to the death of Troy Ave’s bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter. Earlier this year, Daryl ‘Taxstone’ Campbell was arrested for alleged ownership and DNA on the gun that was discharged in crossfire – in cause to the previously mentioned passing. Facing more serious charges, Taxstone formally pleaded to possessing a firearm as a felon and receiving a firearm in interstate commerce.

Luckily for Tax, the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s office didn’t hit him with a federal murder charge; but explained their alleged theory to Judge Lorna Schofield. According to documents from the M.U.A. and DNA discovery on the murder weapon used during the deadly melee, it was detailed that Mr. Campbell brought a firearm to Irving Plaza and fired one shot that killed Ronald McPhatter.

If convicted on gun charges, Taxstone faces up to 20 years in federal lockup for illegally possessing the firearm. In related news, Troy ‘Ronald Collins’ Ave is still being charged at the moment for attempted murder of his alleged involvement in the shooting. Collins has contended that he wrestled the gun away from the alleged shooter and fired back in self-defense.
