One of the few producers that has worked with Kendrick Lamar a lot during his career, Terrace Martin, gives fans an inside look at the man who is carrying the West Coast on his shoulders. During this interview with The FADER, he speaks on a little bit of what K Dot is like when he’s in the zone and about to records, saying he is quiet and focused during his time in the lab.
He also shared a story about working with Snoop Dogg, when he didn’t smoke weed for about a week. Apparently, he was more high strung and mean. He hope that never happens again.
Comparing the two, they’re both students of Dr. Dre, so their recording process is similar, considering they learned from the father of the West Coast.
