EXCLUSIVE: The 50 Cent vs. Lloyd Banks Fallout Explained

RIP Prodigy // RIP E-Money Bags // RIP Makaveli

A few weeks ago, Lloyd Banks posted a photo in a studio, insinuating he was returning to the game. After having private chatter with those close to the situation, the PLK is indeed readying a major album. This will be his first not under the G-Unit umbrella, as the world hasn’t seen Banks with 50 Cent in years.

For whatever reason, the Banks and 50 Cent situation is being mentioned on social media; due to the fact that everyone is finding every little thing on interviews these days. Before Lloyd drops his first single, we wanted to breakdown what happened with the separation between the two.

Dating back to 2006, Lloyd Banks was struggling with the roll-out for his Rotten Apple album, which was delayed by two women allegedly stealing the original copy (see: The Big Withdraw). However, Banks sadly suffered the loss of one of his parents, followed by his other parent having multiple strokes. With Lloyd attending to his family, he put the album’s promotional run on the backburner, and that didn’t sit well with Fifty.

Awkwardly, Kanan mention the passing of one of Kanye West’s parents, and cited that Yeezy was strong enough to work through it. Understandably, 50 needed that project to have more commercial success, given the investment. This was a major loss with G-Unit Records and his distributor, that planned a tour for Banks that was cancelled. A few years later, Lloyd saw his greatest career achievement with “Beamer, Benz or Bentley,” which opened the door for G-Unit to have a reunion years later.

However, even with Banks enjoying that success, 50 was having financial hardships with his label, that put some career movements on hold. This soon led to 50 going on radio to reveal that he was ending G-Unit Records, then mentioned some personal information regarding the girlfriend of Banks. The two eventually had a phone call, which things were peaced up for the time being.

After reuniting the crew in 2014, everything looked to be back to normal until Lloyd missed a show with the rest of G-Unit. Randomly, 50 Cent was on social media joking if they had seen Lloyd Banks. Fans immediately told Fifty that Banks was having his first child and was at the hospital for the birth. A shocked 50 Cent said that he couldn’t believe fans knew about the baby birth and he didn’t. This happened a few years back, as the two haven’t been seen together since.

Lloyd Banks said he would never diss 50 Cent in a song and has remained true to his word. Out of everybody in the Unit, Lloyd is the only person ever to not talk sideways about 50. He even turned down multiple millions to leave 50 Cent during the peak years of G-Unit; but stayed with the family. We’re hoping these two can patch things up, but 50 categorizes Banks with his former son, Marquise.
