With several Aaliyah albums going up on streaming services thanks to Blackground 2.0 Records, some classic soundtracks are also making it to digital. Romeo Must Die, the 2000 film directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, starring Aaliyah and Jet Li was an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet and featured a soundtrack with a stacked lineup.
Timbaland, Irv Gotti, Mannie Fresh, Joe, B.G., Playa, Ginuwine, Destiny’s Child, Mack 10, Dave Hollister and more contributed songs to it.
It also spawned major hits like “Try Again” by Aaliyah, “Come Back In One Piece” with DMX and “We At It Again” by Timbaland and Magoo.
