TheWeekOnSMASH_7-19-14

While we’re sure your week was pretty eventful between watching the Germany win the World Cup, Yoenis Cespedes going back-to-back with Home Run Derby wins and Derek Jeter making his final appearance in this year’s All-Star Game as well as being entertained by Drake as he hosted the 2014 ESPY Awards. We’re just going to assume missed out on a lot of other stuff that hit the net this week, so like any other week, we got you covered.

While Drake and his OVO Sound crew have “Spring 2015 poppin” he announced the title of his upcoming album and the artwork and tracklist for his artist PARTYNEXTDOOR’s new album was revealed. Other news from this week came from MTV announcing the nominees to their annual VMA’s, those who tuned in and payed for the Total Slaughter rap battle event were being issued full refunds, Kanye & Iggy were added to the already stacked list of performers at L.A.’s Made In America festival and much more.

On the music side of things we we’re welcomed by new music from the likes of Nicki Minaj, Cam’ron, Tinashe, Jhené Aiko, Migos, Soulja Boy among many others. Those who wanted to keep us tuned in to just their music by releasing full length projects were Marsha Ambrosius, Waka Flocka, La Roux, Snoop Dogg and more.

DJ Quik took to the stage of SKEE Live to debut a new song, Drake performed two song he recorded specifically for the ESPY’s, JAY Z hit the stage alongside Jay Electronica to perform a number of songs, Beyonce showed us just how “Flawless” she is on stage from the Mrs. Carter Show and plenty of other live performances were viewed this week.

Keep up with everything over the past seven days with The Week OnSMASH.
