Could an Abel X.O. project really arrive in 2017?

Last year, when The Weeknd dropped Beauty Behind The Madness, he teased plans of dropping a direct follow-up project. Well, it looks like the Toronto crooner is giving fans some déjà vu this holiday, as he’s confirmed an immediate successor to his new Starboy LP is already in the works.

In an interview with Billboard, Abel X.O. spoke about the third biggest album of 2016, as well as how he plans to use influences from Kanye West’s Pablo extravaganza as inspiration for his upcoming Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour – beginning on February 17th. Take a look his comments below and let us know if you’re ready for another Weeknd album next year, or 2018.

“After this album’s done, we’ll be working. I have ideas and songs that I want to get out of my head. I wanted to drop Starboy as soon as possible [after Beauty Behind the Madness] just to show that this is what I love doing: making music. It’s very natural, very real. There was a lot of thought behind it, but I did it frantically, very fast, off the fumes of Beauty.”
