Top Dawg Doesn’t Deny ‘Black Hippy’ Album Release

Black Panther Soundtrack out next month!

By now, we’re sure Top Dawg is tired of getting asked about the whereabouts of his Black Hippy album. As the label gears up for its Black Panther Soundtrack with Marvel, along with Jay Rock and ScHoolboy Q readying solo album releases; the owner of TDE was called during a recent interview.

The L.A. Leakers had Jay Rock on-hand to discuss his new album, which is expected to release after the soundtrack. While the native of Watts is yet to share any information on guest appearances, he’s reiterated that it will be filled with bars for those of you who like to the study the rhymes.

Before the interview concluded, they managed to get Mr. Anthony Tiffith on the phone, which even shocked Jay Rock himself. The CEO was asked when the Black Hippy would arrive, as he responded, “If I tell you, I’ll have to kill you.” So, without denying that it was on the way or even in the works, this confirms that the label is still actively trying to figure out a proper roll-out plan for the project.

Whether it happens in 2018 remains to be seen, but the west coast label has tons of material on the way to take our minds off it until further notice. Watch the interview below.
