For those who managed to sleep on the original version of Torii Wolf‘s “1st” single, the remix should perk up your ears a bit. The up and coming singer is doubling down on the Dilated Peoples features and getting them for the video to the track, as the DJ Premier scratches/sample turns into real life adlibs. In the beginning, they all speak on how things came together for the record, right before getting in the booth and spitting their verses and particular parts of the song. It’s more like an in-studio performance, but those shots of Torii riding in the old school with the top down up Highway 1 past Malibu are golden.
