Tory Lanez on Why Drake Didn’t Make ‘Memories Don’t Die,’ Teases Collaborations

Tory x Drake coming soon!

Last month, Tory Lanez sat down with Billboard to discuss his then-released sophomore album, Memories Don’t Die. Throughout the conversation, he opened up on why 50 Cent was his music idol and explained why he linked up with 6ix9ine for their street single on Day 69.

Things continued to discussions about Meek Mill, where Swavey even revealed the two were planning the seeds for a joint-project. Following that, he shared some eye-raising news, revealing that Drake was originally planned for his M.D.D. project. While the two are yet to record music, Drizzy is readying his Scorpion album, which could have a guest appearance from Lanez.

Take a look at the revelation below.

Tory speaking on why Drake didn’t make the album.

Originally, he was supposed to be. I had asked him to jump on it, and he was like, “Yeah, I’ll hop on it.” When I asked him, it was really towards the end of the year, when we both had things going on, and then he was like, “Yo, I’m not really dropping music until the next year starts. That’s when I’m gonna be dropping heavy for real.” Then, I was like… “Okay, let’s make it happen after.” After the New Year came, I had already turned in my album. But we were like, “Cool, we’re gonna make a bunch of music this year.”
