RELATED: Troy Ave – Dope Boy Troy [Album Stream]
Sunday evening, Troy Ave was featured on Fox 5 in New York, to conduct his first TV news interview regarding last May’s Irving Plaza shooting. The event was set to be his big coming out party, as TIP invited him as an opener for the night. However, a backstage altercation, leaving his best friend dead and several others wounded, including himself, changed his life forever.
He would soon serve several weeks behind bars in Manhattan, before posting a half-million-dollar bail to reacquire his freedom. Although restrictions for his house arrest have been altered, the native of Brooklyn is still feeling effects of his career being on hold for the time being.
In an interview with NYC legend, Lisa Evers, Troy also touches on facing up to 20 years behind prison; plus the aftermath of being shot multiple times on Christmas Eve in his hometown.
