It hasn’t even been a week since Vic Mensa has dropped his new EP The Manuscript. The standout from the project was undoubtedly “OMG” with Pharrell and Pusha T. With a lineup like that, you can only imagine what Vic has on deck for the album.
In this talk with GENIUS, Mensa speaks on how the track came together and said that several people told him about how Pusha would sound perfect for the record, how he came across the hook after Skateboard P sent him the session for the beat and broke down some of the lines on the single. Interestingly, Mailk Yusef told him that beat was the one and Vic still remembers talking to Pharrell about skateboarding and his influence on him. That’s how that ‘jump out of Bentley’s with dirty Vans’ came about.
