Vic Mensa Talks New Album, KRS-One Getting Him Into Hip-Hop on Breakfast Club

Vic Mensa stopped by The Breakfast Club this morning following the release of his new album The Autobiography.

In the interview with DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God, he talked about JAY-Z calling him a “once in a lifetime artist,” KRS-One getting him into hip-hop, discovering the difference between black and white, dealing with toxic relationships and drugs, knowing better than the things he was saying on stage, “Homewrecker” being inspired by Biggie’s “I Got a Story to Tell” and much more.

“It was me pulling no punches, and really detailing my story, and being transparent, and being vulnerable, and being honest about the things I’ve experienced so that I can grow from them, I can learn from them,” he says about the project. “And also with the hope that I can give other people the courage, or show them, that it’s alright to come to terms with your past.”
