Vince Staples is getting ready to drop his new album titled Big Fish Theory later this month, which will be the follow-up to last year’s Prima Donna EP and Summertime ’06 album. In a new interview with LA Weekly, the Long Beach rapper talks about Detroit techno influence, how Summertime ’06 was about girls, creating a gallery through different mediums, and the sound of Big Fish Theory itself.
“All I can tell you is that it’s current. It’s tomorrow. It’s next Thursday,” Staples says, only half joking. “We making future music. It’s Afro-futurism. This is my Afro-futurism. There’s no other kind.”
