Wale Joins Episode 117 of Everyday Struggle
This morning, Wale made his long-awaited return to Complex offices and made a visit to their weekly morning series, Everyday Struggle. During the trip, he touched on his new SHINE album and why he didn’t receive support from media publications – and not putting blame on his major label.
Surprisingly, the DMV veteran expected to receive low first week sales after changing management, the lack of a radio-ready single and the extended promotional run.
Throughout the hour conversation, he also grilled DJ Akademiks on his recent career criticism – as Joe Budden let them air out their issues. He also soon broke down his mini-battle with J. Cole, where the two had a phone call the night before he released “False Prophets.”
While the track would lead to a lyrical onslaught on “Groundhog Day,” he soon admitted that Jermaine was one hundred percent correct about his examination.
