Wale Speaks on Elephant in Room with JAY-Z & Roc Nation, Why MMG Isn’t Releasing Music

Pull Up. . .

Nearly 6 years ago, Wale left Roc Nation and cited that the company was going in a different direction. This happened during the time of his single “Bad,” which was one of the biggest releases last decade in the mainstream. At the time, Wale cited that RN was more focused on building their sports brand, as opposed to artists.

However, with the company’s sports agency having top talent, they’ve signed some of the biggest names in music over the last three years (Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Shakira and others). Joe Budden mentioned that both parties were still in the infantile stages of brands and a career with moving through the music industry.

Folarin spoke highly of JAY-Z calling him his idol and needed to speak about the passion of his career, which we’re sure Mr. Carter will understand his perspective in the near future.

Before things ended, he also opened up on why we’re not seeing MMG release music together as a collective. Wale went to explain that their brotherhood is beyond music now with Rick Ross and Meek Mill, as they’re more family oriented now.

No Self Made 4 album details yet, as you can take a look at the conversation below.
