For nearly 14 weeks, the funk-single has dominated all completion and has gone down in history tied for the second-longest rule in the 100’s history. Today, Wiz Khalifa has ended their streak with racing to the top of Billboard 100 with his new Paul Walker-tribute single “See You Again” featuring Charlie Puth.
Coinciding with the success of the Taylor Gang rapper and the film $800 million box office performance in just two weeks, the film’s soundtrack topped album charts on the Billboard 200, generating 110,00 units sold in week one – according to Nielsen Music. Whether Wiz is able to helm the spot next week again remains to be seen, but judging from its recent buzz over the last 7 days wouldn’t be a shock to see the Pixburgh kid enjoy critically-acclaimed mainstream success for the first time since his 2011 single and Pittsburgh Steelers theme, “Black & Yellow.”
