YG’s Record Label Signs Joint Venture with Interscope

2014 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards - Inside

4Hunnid Records is only one year into the start, but YG has already managed to secure an avenue for hie label. He and his partner Brandon Moore have inked a multi-million dollar joint venture with Interscope Records.

The label came together when the executives at IGA saw the vision he and his team had, thanks to the work they put in through the streets with the 4 Hunnid movement. As far as what artists the label is going to house, the details aren’t exactly clear as of yet.

We ain’t really got none of that locked in yet but we working on it. We got a couple of artists we looking at and trying to figure it out. With Sad Boy, I was trying to bridge the situation between Spanish and blacks [on the song “Blacks & Browns”] and the relationship that we got. I wanted to put out the positive side like, ‘We f–k with Hispanics.’ We grow up with them, we share the same culture basically.

YG also said they’re going to sign mainly West Coast acts at first, then branch out to the rest of the country. He’ll be running day-to-day operations and looking for artists in the meantime.
