Young Thug Associate Has Conviction Reversed for Lil Wayne Tour Bus Shooting

Remember this case. . .

Back in 2015, Lil Wayne’s life was threatened, when an unidentified person shot up his tour bus in Atlanta. Young Thug affiliate, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, was sentenced to serve 10 years in fed time, as well as having an additional 10 years on probation after his release. Well, after serving three years of the stint already, it looks like Mr. Winfrey could be free due to the system.

Jimmy pled guilty to firing shots at Wayne’s tour bus, which didn’t injure anyone. Now it looks like the sentence will be overturned, thanks to a recent Georgia Supreme Court majority decision filed.

The documents revealed that Cobb Superior Court Judge Mary Staley Clark judge overstepped her bounds, in pushing Winfrey to take a 10-year plea deal, which was appealed earlier this year.

The report also revealed that Judge Clark threatened to give him a hasher sentence if he went to trial, which gave him no choice – given the circumstances. Currently, Winfrey will remain in custody until his case goes back to Cobb Courts for another plea deal.

In the police report, Atlanta detectives revealed that Winfrey confessed to shooting Tunechi’s tour bus for a higher gang status; which seems like could’ve been another fake confession forced.

At the time, Winfrey, who goes by the name of Peewee Roscoe, was tour manager for both Birdman and Young Thug. After running into the New Orleans rapper and having a public argument, police believe that Winfrey pulled back up to Wayne’s tour bus hours later and started dumping off multiple rounds of ammo outside of the Compound nightclub.

Considering the public embarrassment for this Supreme Court and Judge Clark doing this to possibly thousands of other people locked up, look for this case to be resolved in the coming months.
