Thugga Thugga drops Slime Season this July 4th!
Monday night, Young Thug revealed plans to release a new summer mixtape with London On Da Track entitled Slime Season. The 22-year-old Atlanta rapper is preparing the official rollout for his debut album Hy!£UN35, which is on track for an August 28th release. Before listeners get their hands on that next body of work, Thugga Thugga has revealed the forthcoming mixtape will be arriving on July 4th. Non-coincidentally, Lil Wayne’s set to release his long-awaited Free Weezy Album (TIDAL exclusive?) on the same date, serving as a prelude to his current album held on hostage, The Carter V. Over the spring, the 1017 Thug had plans of originally releasing The Carter VI, but due to legal threats from the camp of Tunechi, he had to change the mixtape’s name to Barter 6.
The new release date announcement revealed just last night is a direct challenge from Young Thug to his idol, as listeners will be able to decide which project they’re feeling more on Independence Day next Saturday.
