The Minnesota Timberwolves Can be a legit threat with Kris Dunn
Since 2009, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been presenting Ricky Rubio as the team’s savior. However, with no jump shot and questionable defense, he’s turned into an average player. With rumors of team looking to move him in exchange for Cavaliers wing-man Iman Shumpert, the team is sold on making collegiate standout one, Kris Dunn, their new starter.
With a consistent jump shot that can stretch beyond the arch and IQ on defense, the Wolves have all the pieces to be a legitimate threat this season. The team still needs a few more years of experience for Dunn, Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine – but at the moment, Karl-Anthony Towns has potential to be the overall best player in the NBA. The 20-year-old seven-footer has developing post-game that we expect him to dominate the league with for years to come, but he can also push and shoot the rock like a guard – something we’ve only seen in this modern era from Anthony Davis.
In just one year, KAT has jumped to the league’s preferred choice over both LeBron James and Kevin Durant as the player they’d start a franchise with. If Dunn is able to bring some of his college magic to the league and make an immediate impact on the team, they have enough pieces and bench support to make some noise throughout the year – leading to the playoffs.
