Last night, the New Orleans Pelicans won the NBA Draft lottery by landing the No. 1 pick. That assumption is that the organization will be drafting Zion Williamson, to pair him with Anthony Davis and the squad in place.
New GM David Griffin had Coach Alvin Gentry wear a lucky tie in the secret lottery room before the results aired on television and they will hope that luck translates back to AD because they will try to convince him to stay.
Unfortunately, Davis’ camp is saying that they still want to move away from N.O.
The New Orleans Pelicans are now set up to be Zion Williamson’s franchise to lift, and No. 1 pick could ease potential trade of Anthony Davis. His stance on a trade has not changed, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Regardless of what happens this offseason, facts are that the Pels have way more leverage in negotiations because they already have the No. 1 pick.
Could the New York Knicks give up their No. 3 pick and a few young players for AD? Could the Los Angeles Lakers offer up the farm with the draft pick to move for AD? Are the Boston Celtics still in the mix for trade negotiations?
It’ll be an interesting summer.
