Suplex City, Bitch!
In one of the most bizarre stories we’ve seen in sports this year, Brock Lesnar has signed a contract to rejoin the UFC brand. While he still remains with Vince McMahon’s World Wrestling Entertainment for at least the next two years, the former MMA Heavyweight Champion has been granted a one-off opportunity to compete at next month’s UFC 200 event.
Following the cancellation of their Welterweight rematch between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor (now rescheduled for UFC 202 in August) and Ronda Rousey still not ready to compete in the ring, Dana White reached out to sports entertainment competitors for a one-fight deal for Brock.

Lesnar’s opponent hasn’t been revealed by Dana yet, but he’ll co-headline the event with the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship unification rematch between current champion Daniel Cormier and former champion Jon Jones. WWE soon clarified that Brock will still return to the company on August 21st for their SummerSlam event in Brooklyn, which they’re allowing their franchise star to compete outside of his limited schedule. At the moment, Lesnar is the highest drawing active star in both MMA and WWE, which is a win-win for both companies cross-promoting.
After consecutive losses to both Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem (later tested positive for PEDs four months later), we’re curious if Brock will take a safe fight or big name in octagon. Look for more details regarding this major fight announcement throughout the month.
