Jon Jones & Daniel Cormier Headliner Rematch Announced for UFC 200

UFC 200: Cormier vs Jones II

Following the exits of Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor on UFC 200, the upcoming July event is shaping up to be one of the best cards in the history of the company.

From Miesha Tate holding her first ever Women’s Bantamweight title defense against Amanda Nunes, as well as the José Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar featherweight bout – Dana White and his group of fighters made a trip to Good Morning America earlier today to drop some major news.

The new main event for UFC will officially be Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier, as both fighters have agreed to quickly take the light heavyweight title unification bout.

After returning from a 15-month layoff of the octagon, Bone Jones defeated Ovince Saint Preux by a unanimous decision last Saturday. Following the fight, he called out Cormier, current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, for a rematch we didn’t expect to happen until August.

In an interesting note, we expect the winner of the interim title fight between Aldo and Edgar likely to face McGregor – who could be stripped of featherweight championship if he refuses to fight Diaz.
