Carmelo Anthony Opens Up About New Opportunity with Trail Blazers

The big news in the NBA the past week has been from the Carmelo Anthony side of things, as he signed a new contract with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Though the Blazers played his former team the Houston Rockets (in a loss) last night, he will be activated today and suit up against the New Orleans Pelicans tonight. He will be wearing No. 00 and tried to provide a spark to a struggling Portland team who has been decimated with injuries.

As well all know, ‘Melo has not had an opportunity to play in the league since his tenure with the Rockets, which ended after 10 games.

The Blazers need another scorer to help CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard and though Anthony snubbed the team in past free agency plans, he feels like this could be a good fit for both sides. As he says in “Melo Mondays,” he has worked his way into game shape and has stayed in contact with CJ and Dame and looks forward to helping those guys win this season.

We’ll see how his debut goes and if the Blazers can get that W.
