Though things may not have ended in the best of terms, Carmelo Anthony was always revered in the New York and tri-state area. After being out of the game for a year and trying to find his place following a short stint in Oklahoma City and Houston, he has found his footing in Portland with the Trail Blazers.
Last night, ‘Melo made his return to Madison Square Garden with his new squad and he got a warm welcome.
Anthony finished with 26 points and 7 rebounds in the game against the Knicks but his team fell short in a 117-93 loss.
After the game, he spoke to the media about how good it felt to get cheers from the MSG fans and his return to New York.
Unfortunately, the loss brings the Blazers to 14-21 for the season as they sit at ninth in the Western Conference standings.
