Carmelo Anthony Wants To Retire In Portland with Trail Blazers

Even though the Carmelo Anthony experiment in Oklahoma City with the Thunder and his stint at the Houston Rockets went poorly, he has found a home in Portland with the Trail Blazers. Being a regular contributor to the team and helping them bounce back from a rough start to the season, ‘Melo is now saying he wants to retire with the team.

In a post by the Blazers’ Instagram page, Anthony says he’s been on board since day one, helping the team in any way he can. Though it should have happened earlier in his career, he feels that at this point, he’s happy there and wants to stay.

Though Portland might be battling it out for the eighth seed in the Western Conference this year, their future certainly looks bright.

Stay, Mel00

With Jusuf Nurkic and Zach Collins back in the rotation in a few months and the young guys developing younger than expected, this team is dangerous at full strength. They may be underachieving currently, but the Blazers are not a team that should be slept on come next season.

It’s dope that ‘Melo has found the right situation for him to bow out gracefully.
