The NFC is now wide open. .
In what might be the most somber celebration of an NFC East title ever, the Philadelphia Eagles are flying home tonight knowing they may be without their team captain for the playoffs.
Sunday afternoon, Wentz went for a touchdown run late in the third quarter and took multiple hits while reaching the in-zone. The score was called back, but he remained in the game to cap off a drive on a touchdown pass to Alshon Jeffery. However, he would immediately leave the game and walk back to the locker room, where his left knee buckled. Team doctors soon ran test for the injury and are fearing that he has a torn ACL. This would mean that Wentz would have to miss the team’s chances at making a deep playoff push, with the current NFC’s best record.
Carson remained in good spirits, and even congratulated his team after the game; who finished with Nick Foles at the helm of the offense. We’re not sure what this means for the conference, unless Aaron Rodgers is really healthy to return before the start of January.
NFC East Champs! So proud of the resiliency of this team. Such a special group of men.
And I greatly appreciate all the prayers! I know my God is a powerful one with a perfect plan. Time to just lean in to him and trust whatever the circumstances! #Proverbs3:5-6

If Carson Wentz does indeed have a torn ACL, he will have stayed in the game, played four more plays, and thrown a TD to Alshon Jeffery with an injured knee.
