Cavaliers Sweep Raptors to Advance to Eastern Conference Finals

BREAK OUT THE BROOM

Even with Drake in the building, the Toronto Raptors didn’t have much of a chance against the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James has been playing some of the best basketball of his career and there hasn’t been any stopping him on the way to another NBA Finals. You know playoff Bron Bron turns up for the postseason and wills his team to victory. Or as much as he can, at least.

Plus, the Raps ruled Kyle Lowry out for the game before opening tip-off, so that should have told you how this one was going to end from the jump.

It all came down on DeMar DeRozan‘s shoulders and the Compton native could only do so much. Toronto had to fire on all cylinders and even with that going for them, the Cavs are too good.

DeRozan finished with 20 points, Cory Joseph had 20 points and Serge Ibaka dropped 23 points on the game, but that late quarter run by Kyrie Irving and company was too much to stop.

Irving ended with 27 points and 9 assists, King James had 35 points and 9 rebounds and Kyle Korver contributed 18 points off the bench for the Cavs. What about the other member of the Big 3, Kevin Love? He only added 5 points to the win.

Cleveland will now get some rest while the Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics slug it out, in what may be a 7-game series.

Tally up another playoff sweep for LeBron, who already has 10 under his belt.

FINAL: CLE 109 | TOR 102

UPDATE: DeRozan had some words about being swept out of the playoffs after a reporter asked if “time” would have given this series a different outcome for the Raptors.

“If we had Lebron on our team, we would have won too”
