This offseason, Damian Lillard signed a monster extension with the Portland Trail Blazers and it looks like his brother in the backcourt wasn’t far behind with his own bag. The team announced today that CJ McCollum will be getting a 3-year extension worth $100 million dollars, making his current deal a reported 5-year, $157 million dollars.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the McCollum became eligible for an extension on Saturday and the deal will start at the 2021-2022 season.
Last season, the Blazers made it to the Western Conference Finals, with CJ being a major part of that playoff run. Especially after losing Jusuf Nurkic at the start of the postseason.
With the signing of Hassan Whiteside, trading for Kent Bazemore and resigning of Rodney Hood, Portland is looking to repeat the same success they tasted last season.
