Dana White is already kicking off 2015 with the big Light Heavyweight Championship bout between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier at UFC 182; but shocked the world on Saturday night revealing the company’s next big acquisition. Recently fired WWE performer, Phil “CM Punk” Brooks has signed a multi-fight deal with UFC and was ringside for UFC 181 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The obviously disgruntled former professional wrestler still has a lot to prove at the age of 36, following a nasty fallout (now public with World Wrestling Entertainment) and will be partaking in his first ever Ultimate Fighting Championship bout in 2015.

During an interview with Joe Rogan, Brooks opened on his Brazilian jiu-jitsu and background in Kenpō – for those in denial he’ll be able to survive the octagon. Already working with Marvel Comics as a writer, Punk’s next journey will now feature will now feature hard-hitting action and no predetermined finishes.

At 6-foot-2, Punk is expected to fight in the middleweight class and will instantly attract new viewers that have become fatigued with sports entertainment. Following Vince McMahon’s apology on Monday night, CM Punk would make a return to Colt Cabana’s The Art of Wrestling Podcast, for a cool down interview.

Unfortunately, he would go into detail about WWE’s claims not knowing they fired him on his wedding day – mentioning he received an overnight FedEx directly their Connecticut headquarters dated the night before. He’s yet to receive a private apology from the McMahon’s and cited Vince’s public response only as a publicity stunt.
