Only one month after the UFC sold for an approximate $4 billion dollars, the match that never happened for UFC 200 will be the most talked about. The second matchup between Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz was a straight war match, setting up the third bout in the epic duel and might just crown this one fight of the year.

The first event under the new regime (WME-IMG) was worth every penny. McGregor defeated Diaz in a majority decision at UFC 202, which went down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The fight went all five rounds and saw Conor come out attacking to set the tone. His leg kicks were affecting Diaz and he was landing some good counters. But Nate came back in the later rounds, taking the fight to a boxing grudgematch, withstanding the McGregor shots to the chin like a champ. He taunted and talked shit in the ring, backing up his confidence as the fight wore on.

Diaz was knocked down in the beginning, but kept his composure and wouldn’t give up. He clearly had Conor with his back to the wall at some points, in what seemed like seconds away from finishing him off.

THE TRILOGY!

In the end, McGregor pulled out the close fight. Immediately after the fight, Diaz questioned the UFC and him being too real for it, asking for part 3 three between the two. He successfully gave Conor his first loss of his UFC career and tonight, the score was settled.

According to the broadcast, McGregor broke his foot in the octagon and was seen limping to the locker room after the right.
