There was mad shit talking for today’s Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor‘s first press conference for their August 26 fight. The spectacle found McGregor dressed in his best attire and Mayweather rocking his signature TMT gear. And of course, there was clowning of each other’s clothes.
Conor went as far as saying that he would knock Floyd out inside four rounds. Mark his words.
McGregor was said he’s just enjoying this moment, but he doesn’t understand all of the restrictions and rules. From the weight of the gloves, where they’re made to the weight of the fighters. Conor isn’t used to so many requirements, but he said he’ll do it regardless, because he’s so excited to get in the ring with Floyd and knock him out.
Mayweather actually sat there very quiet and didn’t say a word, but once he did, he exploded. He said he’s never lost a fight and he wasn’t going to start. He even called himself old at one point, mentioning the fact he’s not the same fighter he was 10, 5 or even 2 years ago. But he still had enough to beat McGregor.
Next thing you know, he called Conor to the front so they could face each other.
This is one of the most hyped events in the history of boxing, but will it live up to the bill? Many think Mayweather has this win in the bag and he’s just using it to pay back some of his 2015 taxes (a total of $22.2 million owed, after fighting Manny Pacquiao). Whether of not he is remains to be seen, but either way he’s seeing a huge pay day for this fight. Way bigger than McGregor.
