“Gobert, you’re a poster!”
Explosive, lethal, clutch; these are all words to describe Damian Lillard‘s play on the basketball court. Most people know that by now. Considering he just got snubbed for the NBA All-Star game, even though a lot of folks think he’s a Top 5 point guard in the entire league, it seems like everyone is going to pay for it on the floor for the second half of the season.
Rudy Gobert might be the first casualty of that aggression and chip on the shoulder.
During the 4th quarter against the Utah Jazz, Lillard made two players going up against him pay for what was about to come next. First, Elijah Millsap ended on the floor as a result of Damian zooming towards the basket, then Rudy Gobert was on the receiving end of a ferocious dunk. Remember, this is a 7’1″ center going up against a 6’3″ point guard.
It was a close game but Lillard ended up lighting the Jazz up for 25 points to go along with 6 assists on the night, leading the Trail Blazers to a win at home.
