David Robinson Believes the Golden State Warriors Have a Short Title Window

That first Spurs. vs. Warriors game just got a whole lot better!

Another retired NBA legend has decided to give his opinion on the recently created super-team of the Golden State Warriors and it’s not an answer some fans would like to hear.

After breaking the Chicago Bulls all-time regular season record of 72 wins and blowing a 3-1 lead to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, the Warriors upgraded their roster with the free agent acquisition of Kevin Durant. However, even with the superstar wing-player joining another top 5 player in the league, some still believe Golden State won’t have a lengthy dynasty.

In a sit-down interview with Zach Frydenlund of Complex News, David Robinson questioned whether or not the new-look warriors would last together beyond their current contracts. He went to cite chemistry issues and most of salary cap flexibility being the reasons why he doesn’t expect this new tandem of Curry-Durant-Klay-Green to remain together for a lengthy amount of time.

“It takes time, you look at what happened with LeBron, Wade and Bosh. It took them a year or two to get their legs underneath them and figure things out and even then that run was relatively short. So if you’re able to put together a team like this, you’re generally going to have a short window because you can’t pay all those guys to keep them together. There’s the short window that’s going to end relatively quickly and it’s not as easy as going out to play.”

With Klay Thompson and Draymond Green under long-term deals and Stephen Curry almost a guaranteed lock to stay next summer when his free agency arrives, we’re sure the salary cap will continue to increase if Durant wants to stay in his new home of the Bay Area.

Let us know in the comments how long you expect this Warriors team to stay together or if they’ll even win a title next June against the defending champion, Cleveland Cavaliers.
