The only transaction that mattered today. . .
After landing Harrison Barnes in free agency, the Dallas Mavericks 2017 campaign has been underwhelming. The team managed to find a diamond in the rough, with the emergence of point-guard Yogi Ferrell and have officially given him the reigns of their starter role.
Today, Dallas has announced they’ve officially waived former star, Deron Williams, who was on the verge of returning home to the Utah Jazz, before today’s deadline. Utah’s reluctance to part ways with talent and picks, gave Dallas no alternative – but to cut the veteran play-maker.
Speaking of which, it’s being reported through multiple GMs, that they expect Williams to ink an immediate deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Deron, first has to clear waivers this weekend; but is expected to join LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and the defending World Champions.
Another interesting development in this transaction, is that Andrew Bogut will also be waived from Dallas, as the Cavs are also a definite likely destination for the former Warrior.
Let us know in the comments if you think the Cavaliers have a slightly better chance of defeating the super-Warriors, with D-Will serving back-up to Kyrie.

Williams obviously has to clear waivers first before getting to CLE. But he is expected to do so.
