Lacy joins the Legion of Boom!
With the NFL, free agency signing period kicking off a few days ago, one of the first major agreements has happened. Today, the Seattle Seahawks have announced they’ve signed veteran running-back, Eddie Lacy. While he posted back-to-back thousand-yard rushing seasons in his first two years with the Green Bay Packers, he endured an injury-riddled year, and battled weight issues.
However, the Seahawks take a gamble on Lacy, inking him to a one-year deal worth $5.5 million, including $3 million fully guaranteed. Surprisingly, Seattle is still holding their tryout and meeting with former Kansas City Chiefs back, Jamal Charles, who will be in Washington tomorrow morning.
While Eddie still has to commit to proper conditioning and maintaining his health; this move should boost Seattle to possible NFC favorites, if the team faces no major injuries.
The Seahawks can now rely on consistent production from Thomas Rawls and C. J. Prosise, as well as the returns of both Tyler Lockett and Earl Thomas. Look for deals from Adrian Peterson (Raiders?) and Latavius Murray (Vikings?) to also happen before the week’s end.
