Eric Bledsoe To Undergo Season-Ending Right Knee Surgery For Torn Meniscus

The NBA’s Most Improved Player this season has been Phoenix Suns shooting guard, Eric Bledsoe. During his official return to Los Angeles last month to play his former team the Clippers, Bledsoe suffered a cartilage tear in his right knee. He would later be evaluated for the next few days, until the terrible news broke today. This is the exact injury he sustained during the 2012 season and hindered his game until the playoffs.

The young 24-year-old was having a career year this season, averaging nearly 20 points a game (mirroring his back-court partner Goran Dragic). Throughout first two months of the season, the pair had been playing the best basketball, collectively, as a back-court tandem amongst the best in the entire NBA and even had theiryoung team in the Western Conference playoff discussions.

While we expect the Suns not to make the postseason now, they have a lot to look forward to, with their team being an attractive destination for free agency, holding up to five picks in this year’s NBA Draft. Check after the jump for more on the story.
