Gervonta Davis next fight after Mario Barrios win, is set to happen after Floyd Mayweather told Tank to go out and win Saturday evening. In the past, we’ve called out HBO Boxing for being reluctant to put Manny Pacman in fights.

To keep it a buck, we’re having that same energy with the PBC and Mayweather Promotions, as they haven’t been giving us the fights, we want with the Charlos and Errol Spence Jr. (still ducking Egidijus Kavaliauskas and Terence Crawford). Saturday night, Gervonta Davis fought Mario Barrios for the WBA (Regular) super lightweight title.

This was in follow-up to last October’s mega fight with Léo Santa Cruz, where he won the WBA (Super) super featherweight title. Now, they’re promoting Tank as the champion right now, but he’s still yet to fight Josh Taylor, the true champion. We’re wondering why this fight is taking so long, but Tank finally feels comfortable staying at 140.

Josh Taylor is a few weeks removed from winning the WBC and WBO light-welterweight titles from José Ramírez. Ukrainian boxer, Vasyl Lomachenko, is also waiting in the wings to have his shot at Tank. During Saturday’s fight, Floyd Mayweather told Gervonta Davis that he was losing in the cards, which prompted him to be more aggressive.

With Barrios coming out super aggressive, he became shocked at Tank’s power by the 4th round. Visibly down in the cards, that’s why Mayweather had to approach the ring and let Davis know that he wasn’t in control of anything. There, Tank’s IQ kicked in and ended things in the early 11th round.

While Gervonta is open to fighting anyone, the match with Josh Taylor would be an immediate fight of the year. This is the fight everyone wants to see and should happen, but we feel like a few more warmup fights will happen. After Josh Taylor’s next fight in a few weeks, we should see him calling out Tank; which is where pressure on Floyd Mayweather will happen.
