Isaiah Thomas Talks Celtics Not Adding Another Superstar & Contract Extension

No team has a more important off-season than Boston this year

Over the weekend, Isaiah Thomas held his final conference for the 2017 NBA season. After having to miss the last three games of this month’s Eastern Conference Finals, due to a hip injury, he touched on the possibility of likely having surgery. However, reporters got intel on his feelings about Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics organization not adding another intricate piece.

Not doing a move, showed in their under-performing results this month; which was blatantly evident in their almost series sweep loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Having the top seed in the east was nice to enjoy, but Thomas is looking to take an immediate next step. The team had a chance to land the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Jimmy Butler and Paul George – but failed to pull a trigger.

While the team gets the no. 1 pick in next month’s draft, Boston has a chance at landing one of those previously mentioned stars, as well as Gordon Hayward who can flat out sign in free agency (still not enough in our opinion). Take a look at the full interview above, as Isaiah speaks on his upcoming summer contract extension and what he expects Boston front office to do in June.
